About the Podcast
Two outspoken doctors talk truth about healthcare in America. We spill some hard truths (but never our not-so-soft drinks), drop some deep research, and bring solidarity and solutions to patients and practitioners.
Come for the relevant topics and high profile guests, stay for Wendy’s and Matt’s banter: medical expertise laced with a bit of wonkiness and a lot of (strategically placed and entirely appropriate) irreverence.
It’s the ultimate place for anyone struggling with today’s healthcare labyrinth to find validation and like-minded community.
HOSTS
Wendy Dean, MD
Dr. Wendy Dean worked in emergency medicine, psychiatry and as a healthcare executive until the challenges of getting high quality care nearly took her physician husband’s life. Now, she is the leading voice for reframing health worker distress through the lens of moral injury. She cofounded and leads Moral Injury of Healthcare; is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Buckingham, UK; the author of, If I Betray These Words; and hosts the Moral Matters and WCC podcasts.
Matt Ramsey, MD
Dr. Matthew L. Ramsey is an orthopaedic surgeon subspecializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. His tenure in multiple leadership positions reinforced his commitment to two ideals in medicine: physician excellence and a holistic approach to patient care. He is passionate about preserving physician autonomy and physician leadership in healthcare.
